UAE President Sheikh Mohamed to Begin Official Visit to Russia

Date:

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will begin an official visit to Russia on Thursday, where he is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The talks will focus on expanding cooperation in key areas including the economy, trade, investment, energy, and other sectors that support shared development within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The visit comes amid continued diplomatic engagement by the UAE on regional and international issues. Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, facilitated by the United States, were held in Abu Dhabi last week.
Sheikh Mohamed last visited Russia officially in 2025, highlighting at the time that relations between the UAE and Russia are built on mutual trust, respect, and more than five decades of constructive engagement. During that visit, both countries signed a Trade in Services and Investment Agreement, along with a separate accord to enhance cooperation in the transport sector.
Economic ties between the two nations continue to grow, with thousands of Russian companies registered in the UAE and Emirati investments present in sectors such as transport, energy, real estate, and food processing. Strong air connectivity, including hundreds of weekly flights, has further supported trade and business exchanges between the two countries.
