The United Arab Emirates is actively participating in ministerial meetings in Bahrain to enhance industrial cooperation across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, these discussions aim to fortify supply-chain resilience, foster investment, and establish strategic partnerships among GCC countries.
The meetings, which run from October 6 to 8 alongside the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026, focus on boosting the competitiveness of Gulf industries through collaborative efforts. By leveraging the combined capabilities of GCC nations, the discussions seek to develop more integrated regional value chains, thereby enhancing industrial productivity.
Central to the UAE’s agenda is the integration of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to improve industrial productivity and competitiveness. The UAE delegation emphasizes deeper industrial integration within the GCC, encouraging greater private-sector involvement in regional projects.
During the meetings, UAE companies are showcasing national products and industrial technologies, highlighting opportunities for cooperation in manufacturing, investment, technology, and supply chains. The discussions also address industrial financing, innovation, infrastructure, and supply-chain resilience.
Several memorandums of understanding are anticipated to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies, reflecting efforts to expand industrial partnerships. The UAE’s industrial exports reached Dh260 billion in 2025, with significant contributions from medium- and high-technology sectors. Furthermore, the National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has redirected over Dh473 billion into the UAE economy, bolstering local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.
Through its participation in Bahrain, the UAE underscores its commitment to building robust industrial links across the GCC, striving to cultivate a more integrated and competitive regional industrial sector.
