Rain and strong winds are set to impact parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday, with forecasts predicting wind speeds of up to 50 km/h in inland and mountainous areas. Temperatures could soar to 41°C in these regions, potentially reducing visibility due to blowing dust.
The weather across the UAE is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds forming over eastern areas and gradually moving to some inland and western regions in the afternoon. These clouds may lead to rainfall as low-pressure systems influence the country. Winds will predominantly come from the southeast to northeast at 10–25 km/h, intensifying during cloud formation, with coastal and island areas possibly experiencing winds up to 35 km/h.
Temperature forecasts indicate a range from 35°C to 41°C inland, 34°C to 38°C along the coast, and 26°C to 32°C in mountainous areas. Humidity levels are predicted to rise overnight into Thursday, reaching up to 90% in some regions, which could result in mist or fog, particularly in coastal and inland locations. The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to maintain slight sea conditions.
Thursday may bring further unsettled weather, with clouds developing over eastern and western parts of the UAE and another chance of rain. Winds are expected to reach up to 40 km/h, accompanied by occasional blowing dust.
On Friday, partly cloudy skies are anticipated, with a possibility of afternoon rain in eastern areas. Increasing humidity could lead to fog or mist overnight and into the early hours of Saturday. A gradual decline in temperatures is expected over the weekend, with Saturday likely seeing convective clouds over eastern and northern areas, while Sunday should remain generally fair to partly cloudy. Continued humid conditions overnight into Monday could further support fog or mist formation.
The forecast highlights Wednesday and Thursday as the days with the highest likelihood of rainfall, followed by a transition to cooler temperatures and recurring risks of fog or mist over the weekend.
