South Korea, UAE Focus on Advancing Tech Collaboration in Bilateral Talks

Date:

The ongoing collaboration between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to deepen, with both nations exploring new avenues for cooperation. This development comes on the heels of a high-level meeting in Seoul between South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Executive Affairs Authority, where they discussed expanding their partnership beyond traditional sectors.

During their meeting at Cheong Wa Dae, President Lee emphasized the importance of solidifying the long-standing relationship between the two countries. He expressed gratitude for the UAE’s prioritization of crude oil supplies to South Korea earlier this year and highlighted the potential for increased collaboration in areas such as defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and culture.

The dialogue between President Lee and Al Mubarak also underscored the mutual desire for more concrete projects and enhanced communication between officials from both nations. Lee called for stronger coordination based on mutual trust, striving to translate their cooperation into tangible outcomes.

Representing the UAE, Al Mubarak conveyed greetings from President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reiterated the significance of South Korea as a close partner. He noted that the bilateral relationship has evolved beyond energy and infrastructure, now encompassing investments in sectors such as space, healthcare, and education.

The meeting signals a continued commitment to fostering a robust partnership, with expectations of further high-level exchanges, potentially including a summit in South Korea next month. This alignment of strategic interests is poised to benefit both nations across multiple industries.
