On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and numerous worshippers who joined him in marking the commencement of this significant religious festival.
In the aftermath of the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged greetings with those present, celebrating the joyous occasion of Eid. The event featured a sermon by Dr. Omar Al Darei, the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat. He underscored the pivotal role of honesty as a cornerstone for fostering trust, promoting national unity, and ensuring social stability. Dr. Al Darei also commended the UAE leadership for their dedication to strengthening the nation through unity and a focus on national interests.
Joining Sheikh Mohamed were several prominent figures, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. Together with the worshippers, they recited Al Fatiha in remembrance of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Throughout the Emirates, rulers and senior leaders took part in Eid prayers alongside citizens and residents at key mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended prayers at the Zabeel Grand Mosque. Meanwhile, in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined the congregation at Sharjah Mosque. Other leaders, such as Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi in Ajman and Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi in Fujairah, also participated in prayers at their respective locations.
Further afield, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered his prayers at the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, while Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined the worshippers at the Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These gatherings marked the beginning of Eid Al Adha celebrations nationwide, with thousands assembling at mosques across the UAE to observe the occasion.
